Branded Factory Opens 1.10 Lakh Sq. Ft. Store, Eyes National Growth

The new Bhilwara outlet marks a larger bet on taking a regional retail business into new markets while keeping value, variety and scale at the centre of the proposition.

Bhilwara, Rajasthan | 31 October 2026: For a retail business, opening a large store is rarely just about adding another address. It is also a test of whether the business model can be replicated, whether the proposition can travel across markets and whether consumers in different cities see enough value to make the format work.

Branded Factory’s new 1.10 lakh sq. ft. outlet in Bhilwara represents that next stage in its growth journey. Founded by Basant Gandhi, the company is an investee company of Dr. Vivek Bindra’s Bada Business and is looking to build a larger multi-brand retail network beyond its existing markets.

The timing is significant for another reason. Branded Factory is positioning its journey as ‘From Bhilwara to Bharat’—a proposition built around taking a business that originated in a regional market and expanding it across a much wider consumer base.

The Bigger Question Is Whether the Model Can Travel

Retail expansion is often measured by the number of stores added. But for a growing company, the more important question is whether the underlying model can be reproduced without compromising the customer proposition.

Branded Factory’s model is based on bringing multiple brands and categories together in large-format stores. Apparel, footwear, fashion accessories, home furnishings, electronics and other lifestyle products are brought under one roof, giving consumers a broader assortment rather than a single-category shopping experience.

The company’s use of bulk procurement and strategic sourcing is another part of the model. The objective is to combine brand availability with competitive pricing—an equation that becomes particularly important when entering markets where consumers are value-conscious but increasingly aspirational.

Why Bhilwara Matters to the Story

Bhilwara is not being presented simply as another retail destination. It is the starting point of the company’s larger expansion narrative.

The company already has a presence in Rajasthan and Gujarat, with approximately 2.50 lakh sq. ft. of retail space across Bhilwara, Vadodara and Navsari. The latest store adds scale to that footprint while giving the company a larger base from which to test and refine its retail proposition.

The next phase is expected to take the business into additional markets. Godara and Bhavnagar are among the proposed locations, while Ahmedabad, Surat, Vapi and other markets are also being explored.

A Different Route to Retail Scale

Branded Factory is not relying solely on company-operated stores for its expansion. It is also looking at a structured franchise model, giving the company more than one route to build its network.

The business operates across both B2C and B2B channels. While its stores serve consumers directly, its wholesale and dealer network provides another route to market.

This combination could become important as the company moves beyond its initial markets. Retail businesses operating across multiple cities need more than a strong store format; they need sourcing discipline, inventory management, consistent operations and the ability to adapt to local demand.

Where Bada Business Fits In

Branded Factory’s association with Dr. Vivek Bindra’s Bada Business also places its growth story within the broader Idea to IPO initiative.

The initiative focuses on SMEs with the potential to develop into listed businesses and aims to support them in strengthening areas such as business systems, financial discipline, operational processes, leadership and governan…
